After the Fallout series on Prime Video reignited the hype surrounding Bethesda’s dystopian role-playing game series, the Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London, which has been in development for years, has finally been released. The XXL fan project byTeam FOLON brings you a completely new main game. For the first time in the Fallout series, you will travel to Europe and experience a completely new story in an open world that is even bigger than the base game.

Fallout: London is so big that it has been given its own release on GOG.com and you won’t find it within the mod store in the game. We’ll show you how to install Fallout: London for PC now.

Please note: Fallout: London is currently only available for PC. A release for other consoles is currently not planned.

Fallout: London – Installing it is this easy

To start your journey to London in the year 2237, you first need the Fallout 4 GOTY edition. You can also buy this directly on offer via GOG.com or Steam. The developers behind Fallout: London have made it as easy as possible for you to install their mod. It can now be installed on your computer without any previous modding experience.

If you own Fallout 4 on GOG

The easiest way to do this is if you own the GOG version of Fallout 4. Then you can download Fallout: London now for free via GOG.com. Then follow the installation instructions of the Fallout: London installer. Before doing so, you should deactivate your cloud saves for Fallout 4.

If you own Fallout 4 on Steam

Things get a little more complicated if you own Fallout 4 on Steam. In this case, you must first downgrade the game to an earlier version, as Fallout: London is not compatible with the recently released next-gen patch. However, thanks to the Fallout London Downgraders, which you can now download via Nexusmod, this process can also be completed with just a few mouse clicks.

Once you have unpacked the .ZIP file, all you have to do is start the FOLON-Downgrader.exe and follow the instructions. If you feel uncomfortable logging into Steam using the tool, you can also downgrade manually with more work. You can find instructions on how to do this on this page from the developers, Team FOLON. You can then install Fallout: London via GOG.com as described above. The GOG Galaxy app will automatically recognise your Fallout 4 Steam folder. If this does not work, you can find it by default under “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4”.
