It seems that Google is preparing to launch its new “Pixel” products earlier than expected this year. Indeed, Google usually presents its new smartphones at the beginning of autumn. However, the American firm has just set the date of the next Made by Google event for 13 August, 2024 to present, among other things, Pixel devices.

A web page whose URL ends with ‘google pixel 9 pro‘ was even published by Google on their official website. We see, traced in an enigmatic manner, the contours of a smartphone which could be the Pixel 9 Pro.

Four Google Pixel models will be announced simultaneously

As expected following the latest rumours, we confirm that we will be entitled to four models of Google Pixel smartphone. Also, and according to the new information, all these models will be announced on the same day — 13 August, 2024 .

Commercial names

We still don’t have the final commercial names of these smartphones. However, we trust Kamila Wojciechowska who specialises in leaking new products, like the Google Pixel 9. In her article written on Android Authority, she indicates that Google’s next foldable smartphone could be called “Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold” instead of “Google Pixel Fold 2”.

We should therefore have this line of smartphones:

• Google Pixel 9
• Google Pixel 9 Pro
• Google Pixel 9 XL
• Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Will Google’s new foldable smartphone be on sale in the UK?

This is the first good news and the answer is therefore yes!

According to our information, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will indeed be on sale in the UK, much like its predecessor the Pixel Fold. That was released in only four countries (United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan).

Prices and configurations available

The latest investigations of Dealabs Magazine’s billbil-kun retrieved the price list of all upcoming Google Pixel smartphones. Please note that the prices displayed here are only valid in France. However, these prices should also be applicable in all countries of the Eurozone, as was the case with the Google Pixel 8.

We summarise these prices below with the configurations (colours and storage sizes) available:

Google Pixel 9: Available in four colours for all configurations, Obsidian (Volcanic Black), Porcelain (White), Cosmo and Mojito .

• 128 GB: 899 euros (probably £799)
• 256 GB: 999 euros (probably £899)

Google Pixel 9 Pro:

• 128 GB: Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel (Sage Green) and Pink (Pink). Price: 1,099 euros (probably £999)
• 256 GB: Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel (Sage Green) and Pink (Pink). Price: 1,199 euros (probably £1,099)
• 512 GB: Obsidian and Hazel only. Price: 1,329 euros (probably £1,199)

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL (brand name to be confirmed):

• 128 GB: Obsidian, Porcelain and Hazel. Price: 1,199 euros (probably £1,099)
• 256 GB: Obsidian, Porcelain , Hazel and Pink. Price: 1,299 euros (probably £1,199)
• 512 GB: Obsidian, Porcelain and Hazel . Price: 1,429 euros (probably £1,299)
• 1 TB: Obsidian only. Price: 1689 euros (probably £1,449)

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold (commercial name to be confirmed): Available in two colours for all configurations, Obsidian and Porcelain.

• 256 GB: 1,899 euros (probably £1,599)
• 512 GB: 2,029 euros (probably £1,699)

Price increases?

If we analyse these prices, there is good news and bad news. The good news concerns the prices of the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold which generally do not undergo any price increase. We can therefore assume that there will be no price increase elsewhere in the world for these models either.

However, the 256 GB and 512 GB models of the Google Pixel 9 Pro suffer a slight price increase compared to the Pixel 8 Pro.

The bad news concerns the prices of the base model, the Google Pixel 9. If we compare them to those of the Pixel 8, the prices of the Google Pixel 9 undergo a fairly significant increase of £100. That is a big jump.

Pre-order offers still unknown

Google is known for being generous with the pre-order offers that accompany the launch of their new smartphones. After Pixel Pro earbuds and Pixel Watches, we don’t know what the pre-order bonuses for Pixel 9 products will be.
