Introducing Meta Quest Plus, a VR game subscription service for £7.99 per month or £59.99 a year, offering two handpicked titles monthly. What more do we know?

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced the launch of a revolutionary “virtual reality subscription” service called Quest Plus.

Designed to enhance your VR experience, this subscription service promises access to “the best titles on the platform,” including VR’s biggest hits, hidden gems, and back-catalog classics.

In a blog post, Meta’s head honcho suggests that Quest Plus is “the most affordable way to grow your library with killer content.”

This new subscription offers more than just a chance to sample different VR games — it’s convenient for one — but it’s also a ‘curated’ experience that makes it easier for you to explore Meta Quest’s extensive catalogue.

How much is it?

For £7.99 per month or £59.99 per year (which obviously works out cheaper), Meta Quest Plus subscribers will be treated to “two titles every month”, reminiscent of services such as PlayStation Plus.

In July, subscribers can look forward to titles Pistol Whip and nostalgia-fuelled arcade adventure Pixel Ripped 1995, while August will bring Walkabout Mini Golf and MOTHERGUNSHIP: FORGE.

Claimable games will become available on the first of every month. However, similarly to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass, you’ll only retain access to those games as long as you remain subscribed to the service.

The subscription is currently available for both Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro, and once the long-awaited Meta Quest 3 is released sometime this autumn, the service will be compatible with that headset too.

One good point of the sub is that the value of Meta Quest Plus increases over time — the longer you remain subscribed, the more games you’ll accumulate.

Plus, cancelling your subscription is hassle-free and, should you choose to rejoin later, you’ll regain access to every title you had during your original paid subscription period.

The integration of the Quest Plus service across different Meta Quest headsets ensures that you can enjoy its benefits in an ongoing capacity, rather than losing games when you upgrade.
