It seems that the chances that a PlayStation event could happen in May 2024 are only increasing.

After our exclusive information shared yesterday, about the imminent announcement of the long-awaited game Concord, another PlayStation exclusive may appear during the same period.

Rumours about an upcoming PlayStation event are in full swing

The first rumours were emitted by contacts with journalist Jeff Grubb, journalist for Giant Bomb and who generally does not hold his tongue too much. He declared that a PlayStation event would be held during the month of May this year. Without knowing its nature, namely whether it is a PlayStation Showcase or a simple State of Play.

Very recently, XboxEra journalist Nick Baker shared what he had heard from his usual sources…

I’m hearing the PlayStation show (again, still not sure on its label) should be around the 28th (give or take for timezones and such I guess)

Jeff Grubb for his part, and after being harassed on the net with questions about this possible event, persists as always. He announced that “the month of May is still not over.”

With the new information we’re going to reveal to you today, will we really have a PlayStation Showcase, a State of Play, or just none of that?

Astro Bot, the return!

Several rumours and clues had already predicted his return

Indeed, if we go back to 2021, a job offer from the studio in charge of Astro’s Playroom, Team Asobi, was shared on LinkedIn (thanks VGC). The offering indicates that the studio is working on a new 3D action game.

If we go back to the beginning of this year, a rumour was still mentioned by our dear Jeff Grubb. The latter indicates that a new game linked to the Astro universe could arrive this year.

After publishing some details about Sony’s next Days of Play, there was an image publicly visible on the PlayStation website. There we saw a promotional image with a new Days of Play logo surrounded by a certain… Astro! Could this be an indication of Astro’s return in a new game?

Information on the next Astro Bot game

According to Dealabs Magazine’s billbil-kun’s information, a new game from the Astro universe is being prepared by the Team Asobi studio. They think (although we are not 100% certain) that it will simply be called Astro Bot.

The most important information we have is linked to the announcement date of the game. Indeed, we estimate that the announcement of this new game should be made within 15 days as well.

Among other information we have obtained, it seems that part of the game will be playable in an environment located in the heart of a desert. One of the new characters in this game would be a fennec fox in the form of a robot sharing some similarities with Astro.

We still don’t know the release date and on which platforms the game will be available. That said, we believe it will be released exclusively on PS5 (and not PS VR2).
