Epic Games Advent Calendar: 3 predictions for free games this Christmas season

The Epic Games Christmas Sale has begun! And on the programme, we’ve got plenty of very tempting discounts as revealed last month. But there are also 17 free games to claim in the Epic Games Advent Calendar.

As a reminder, here is the schedule of free games during the Epic Games Store Advent Calendar event:

Epic Games Store: Predictions for future free games

We are pleased to share new predictions for the Epic Games Advent calendar, courtesy of our partner magazine Dealabs’ billbil-kun. The first prediction is for today’s game, Mystery Game #3, which will be available from 21 to 22 December 2023 at 4PM (GMT).

Important disclaimer, the following information consists of predictions only. We do not have definitive evidence that these games will be available for free, although these predictions are based on factual evidence.

1. Mystery game #3 – 21 December 2023

Estimated probability: 80%

We expect Melvor Idle will be the free game on 21 December 2023 at 4PM. This incremental (clicker) RPG draws inspiration from RuneScape and offers the opportunity to master over 20 skills. In addition to wood chopping and farming, the game also includes a combat aspect.

2. Mystery game #11 – 29 December 2023

Estimated probability: 80%

On 23 December 2023, we anticipate that the free-to-play mystery game #11 could be Snakebird Complete. This remastered edition combines Snakebird and Snakebird Primer, and has previously been exclusively available on Nintendo Switch as of 24 November.

According to our information, Snakebird Complete will be released on PC on 29 December 2023. This release date will also coincide with the date of Mystery Game #11, hence our (partial) prediction.

3. Mystery game #15 – 2 January 2024

Estimated probability: 30%

Celeste is one of the games that has previously been offered for free on the Epic Games Store. It is a true gem, suitable for both casual and experienced gamers. We believe there is a strong likelihood that Celeste could be Epic’s 15th free game on 2 January 2024.
