Despite competition from other major players like Disney+, Now, and Apple TV+, Netflix has held its own, largely because of an extensive library of original and acquired content.
With major recent shows in the UK, such as Baby Reindeer, The Gentlemen and RIPLEY making waves, alongside original attention-grabbing films like Rebel Moon, Red Notice, Don’t Look Up, and All Quiet on the Western Front, Netflix provides a large range of entertainment options. Netflix’s subscription plans & pricing
Netflix currently offers four subscription plans at different prices. Each plan requires a monthly payment.
- Basic with Ads is £4.99 per month: This is an ad-supported tier that allows subscribers to watch on only one device at a time with no options for downloads.
- Basic for £7.99 per month: This membership allows subscribers to watch on one device at a time in standard definition. No longer available to new users, so for the old guard!
- Standard (£10.99 per month): With this subscription, viewers can watch in HD and on two devices at a time and download on two devices. You can add one extra member slot to your account for an additional £4.99 per month.
- Premium (£15.99 per month): The premium subscription allows viewers to watch in Ultra HD (where available) and on four devices at a time (download on six devices). You can also add two extra member slots to your account for an additional £4.99 per slot per month.
Users can view or change their payment plan in their account settings under the ‘Change Plan’ option. Netflix sneakily removed the Basic without ads option for new users in July 2023, which largely went under the radar.

How to Cancel Netflix Subscription?
You can just as easily cancel your Netflix subscription by following these steps:
- Sign in to your Netflix account.
- Click on your profile photo in the top-right corner and select ‘Account’.
- Navigate to the ‘Membership & Billing’ section and click ‘Cancel Membership’.
- Click ‘Finish Cancellation’ to confirm.
Remember, you can resume your Netflix membership at any time, and your viewing preferences will be saved for 10 months.
