After several years of design, Samsung made its future Galaxy Ring smart ring official in early 2024. The brand had briefly teased the arrival of this smart ring during their Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2024. In addition, Samsung had exhibited its ring during the MWC 2024 which took place in Barcelona in February.

A more detailed presentation of the Galaxy Ring is expected for the next Unpacked event which will take place on 10 July, 2024. Samsung is expected to present its new products there.

Features not yet detailed…

There is very little official information about Samsung’s next smart ring. The Galaxy Ring will, thanks to its various sensors, collect and measure several health data. Among them, we find data related to sleep as well as stress. It also promises to be able to measure the blood sugar level for diabetics without even having to prick themselves.

We also know what this ring will look like since it was exhibited at the last MWC 2024. Three colours will be offered — black, gold and silver, all in nine different sizes.

The battery life of the smart ring had been mentioned during an interview with the president of Samsung Electronics as we can read through the lines of this Korean blog article. The ring should last between 5 and 9 days on a single full charge.

…and less rumours

Whether it’s about the features or the price, there have been few rumours. Some sources are talking about a price of around $300, which would be equivalent to £250 at most.

Same thing regarding the release date of this connected ring. We have only been treated to predictions envisaging an announcement in July and a release in August 2024.

According to the information, the Samsung Galaxy Ring smart ring will be announced on 10 July, 2024 as expected. In addition, and contrary to what was predicted, it will be available in Europe and the UK from 19 July, 2024 .

Prices and configurations available:

This is one of the pieces of information that may disappoint more than one. The real price of the Galaxy Ring will be much more expensive than that speculated by the rumours so far.

According to billbil’s information, the launch price of the Galaxy Ring will be set at €449 in Europe (approximately £379 on current exchange rate).

It will be available in nine sizes, as initially planned, ranging from 5 to 13 (J to Z in the UK). And finally, the three colours in black, gold, and silver will also be available.
