After collecting a huge number of dislikes for its trailer at Sony's State of Play, Concord is in danger of delivering yet more bad news to PC gamers worldwide.
After having been integrated into the PC versions of God of War Ragnarök and Until Dawn, many gamers are wondering whether the mandatory PSN account connection will also be present in PlayStation Concord’s new multiplayer FPS, soon to be available on PC and PS5.
It all started so well with the simultaneous arrival of Helldivers 2 on PS5 and PC (via Steam) earlier this year. The title developed by Arrowhead Studios was at the top of the sales charts on Steam as soon as it was released.
However, the title’s publisher, Sony Interactive Entertainment, had decided in early May to integrate the connection with a PSN (PlayStation Network) account in order to access the game. Thus making the game inaccessible in more than 177 countries where PSN is unavailable.
Helldivers 2 is no longer purchasable in 177 countries where PSN is not available (but some are still available like Baltics).

After gamers grumbled with a barrage of negative reviews on Steam, PlayStation retracted and removed the compulsory connection with a PSN account. But the story is far from over.
As can be seen on Steam or Epic Games Store, this integration with PSN is required from the outset in recent PlayStation releases on PC following the example of God of War Ragnarok or Until Dawn.
You may remember Concord, PlayStation’s latest Multiplayer FPS game developed by Firewalk Studios which will be released simultaneously on PS5 and PC this year. Its gameplay was revealed at the latest State of Play on 30 May 2024. We were interested in this particular title given that it’s not yet listed on Steam or Epic Games Store.
Following our latest information from billbill-kun, we can confirm that logging in with a PSN account will be mandatory to access Concord whether on Steam or Epic Games Store. This surely won’t help the game’s sales launch worldwide, especially after picking up a large number of dislikes on its trailer posted above.
Pre-orders will launch on 6 June 2024 on Steam and Epic Games Store. There will also be an open beta available prior to the game’s launch on 23 August 2024.
